The Evolution of Tinman Elite

In the world of pro running, groups like Tinman Elite are hard to come by. Founded in 2017, Tinman Elite was just a few athletes with high-school standout Drew Hunter at the helm. After Drew inked a 10-year contract with adidas, he moved to Boulder and started bringing people into his training circle, including now 2:10 marathoner Reed Fischer and Indoor 5000m German record holder Sam Parsons.

Since then, Tinman Elite has gone through many ebbs and flows, adding new training partners, working with new coaches, and launching a women's team. In the past few years, they've produced some of their best results yet, including a US 5k Championship win for Drew, top finishes at the Olympic Marathon Trials for Reed and Connor Winter, and multiple national championship finalists in events from the 3000m steeplechase to the 10,000m. While the training programs and race results have changed over the years, one thing remains true for the team: they are a team that cares deeply for each other, and their primary mission is to push the sport of running forward.

Band Design: COROS x Tinman Elite Band for PACE 3

The color palette for the band was inspired by Tinman Elite's classic colors and previous apparel collaborations. The white silicone band is made for COROS PACE 3 and features gold speckles, reminiscent of celebratory confetti that adds a premium feel.

The gold, black, and white color palette pairs with Tinman Elite's custom Adizero cross-country spike and other apparel collections.

Lasered on to the rubber clasp is a detailed Tinman Elite logo in gold against black, so you can carry the Tinman spirit wherever you go.

"I wanted to create a tuxedo type feel for your wrist while being sure it was synonymous with our teams branding. We kept it simple and elegant with a classic white band, black trim, and a necessary pop of gold to bring it altogether. The gold “flakes” were inspired by the falling Aspen leaves found here in our backyard in Colorado, and the race day confetti you see used most passionate fans during a marathon race to shower the passing racers."

The Meaning of "Live To Race"

If you're a runner, at some point in your life you've probably run a race. Whether it was your first 5k, or the fifth time running your favorite course, we all approach the start line with goals in mind. Racing brings us together, but it also tests our individual stamina. It is a testament to the hard work we put in day in and day out, and no matter what the outcome, we all have the chance to finish what we started, and do it again.

"I think what I love most is that its a statement that rings true for any runner. We all train so hard, lay it all on the line, all for a chance to showcase how passionate we are about this sport. Racing is all encompassing. It could bring out the most heartbreaking or euphoric feelings and to be willing to face those intense emotions head on is such a beautiful and noble pursuit," Sam explains. "As runners, we live for it."
