Increase your fitness, learn more about this valuable metric and enter to win one of 20 COROS Heart Rate Monitors with the Base Fitness Challenge. Open to all COROS users from Sept 25th to Oct 25th.*

What Is Base Fitness?

The technical answer is that your Base Fitness score represents a 42-day rolling average of your Training Load. To fully understand what Base Fitness is, let's start by defining Training Load, a calculation of your heart rate intensity for your activity. Training Load will tell you how well your body handled an individual activity, but Base Fitness will tell you how your body changes over multiple activities.

Why Is Base Fitness Useful?

Not all miles are created equal, we can't always work out every day, and your fitness level won't change overnight. Seeing a consistent big picture of your fitness level lets you understand how your workouts, or lack thereof, affect your overall physical fitness. This knowledge can help you make informed decisions about how to structure your training by increasing or decreasing your workout intensity or switching up how you're training.

Where Can I Learn More About Base Fitness?

Whether you're training to stay fit or to prepare for an upcoming race, get an in-depth explanation of Base Fitness from our COROS Coaches blog here.

How Do I Participate In The Challenge?

All you have to do is train with your COROS watch. It's that simple! You'll unlock the challenge badge if you increase your Base Fitness score by 10 points or more between September 25th and October 25th.

How Do I Enter To Win a COROS Heart Rate Monitor?

After you've unlocked your challenge badge, take a screenshot and share it on Instagram, Facebook, or Strava, tagging @COROSglobal before October 25th. You can always find your badge in your app by going to your Profile Page and selecting to view your Personal Records.

Pro Tip: Get more creative with your social post. Your badge will also be available to share through our new custom watermark image sharing. Learn more about this new app feature here.

Why Should I Want a COROS Heart Rate Monitor?

Heart rate is how your workout intensity is measured. While COROS watches offer the best wrist-based heart rate measurement available, the wrist simply isn't the best place on your body for optical sensors to operate. The arm-worn COROS Heart Rate Monitor delivers exceptionally accurate and comfortable measurements, which allows you to take your training to the next level.

*Winners are only eligible in the US, Canada, EU, UK, and Japan.
