Track your gear's lifespan, get a complete view of your sleep, and record your swims with more precision than ever in our September 2024 Feature Update. These new features are designed to keep you in control of your training and recovery, so you can focus on what really matters—your performance. Learn more about what upgrades are coming your way below.

Firmware Status Update

After years of firmware updates, COROS APEX Pro, and COROS VERTIX 1 have reached their hardware's storage limit and will no longer receive future firmware updates. COROS PACE 2 will receive most of the features below, but will not support future firmware updates which require storage capacity on the watch (more information on which devices will receive each of the new features listed at the bottom of this article).

App-based software updates will continue to be available for all COROS users however, ensuring continued value and optimization. While this may not be ideal, it reflects our commitment to extending the life and value of our products for years, even as hardware limits are reached. Gear Tracking

The gear we train with doesn't last forever and often requires routine maintenance or replacement. Just like you might track the odometer on your car to know when you need your next oil change, you can now track the gear you use for your activities to see how much mileage they've accumulated and when you might need to perform maintenance on your bike, or replace a pair of shoes. Set a max distance on your shoes to receive a notification when you've exceeded it, and track the overall distance for any bikes and shoes directly within the COROS app.

All Day Sleep

For shift workers, and for anyone who naps, getting a clear picture of your weekly sleep totals can be tough. With this update, your watch automatically tracks sleep 24/7, so you can make sure all time spent asleep whether at night, or during the day, is tracked. If you plan to take a nap, you can also select Timed Nap from the toolbox for improved accuracy.

Sleep Quality

There is a difference between getting 8 hours of sleep, and getting 8 hours of quality sleep. Now anytime you wear your COROS watch to sleep*, you'll be able to see information about the quality of your sleep broken down into individual stages. Knowing the time you spent in individual sleep stages compared to the recommended amounts can help you identify patterns and routines that help you get more high quality sleep.

*Only sleep lasting longer than three hours will receive Sleep Quality information.

Pool Swim: Drill and Interval Modes

Working out in the pool can be difficult to track with precision, with many different types of strokes and arm movements you may make in an environment where operating a watch is tricky. You can now track Drills, and perform Regular or Send-Off Time intervals during your pool swims, allowing you to easily structure your swim sessions and ensure that your activities are accurately tracked.
